Featuring Michael Gormley

December 17 – 18, 2018

6:30 – 8:30 pm • Church

MONDAY | 12.17

Session 1: Embracing the Fatherhood of God

TUESDAY | 12.18

Session 2: Beyond Guilt and Shame

At the Advent Mission, we will focus on our relationship with God by first correcting our misunderstanding of the nature of God. We will address the baggage and false views of God’s fatherhood over us by looking to the Son’s pursuing love of us. We will seek to answer one of the most intimate questions, “What does God want for me?”, by passing through our guilt and fear to really discover the one thing holding each of us back from our relationship with God.

Each night of the mission will include praise and worship, a keynote address by Michael, adoration and prayer teams. Childcare is available with RSVP. Simply fill out the form to RSVP or contact the parish office.

Michael has been leading evangelization and ministry efforts for the past 10 years, both as a full-time parish staff member and as a speaker and consultant for parishes, dioceses, and Catholic campus ministries. He has his Undergraduate Degrees in both Philosophy and Theology, and a Masters in Arts in Theology and Christian Ministry, from Franciscan University of Steubenville, Ohio. He currently serves as the Coordinator of Evangelization at St Anthony of Padua Catholic Church in The Woodlands. Michael is also the founder and creative director of, and the producer and cohost of a Catholic young adult podcast Catching Foxes, which discusses the collision of Faith and Culture. He is married to his college sweetheart, Shannon, and they have about 1,000 children and get about 3 hours of sleep a night, which is alright by him.

Or join us for a Morning Mini-Mission

This shortened session especially for moms, those who are retired, or those who would rather attend in the morning, will take place both days (Monday, 12/17 and Tuesday, 12/18) from 9-10:30am.

Childcare will be provided during the Monday morning session with RSVP . Unfortunately, Tuesday morning childcare is not available because the SFA Preschool is in session, but children are welcome to attend the mission if necessary. Simply fill out the form to RSVP for childcare on Monday or contact the parish office.
