The Mission of St. Francis of Assisi Outreach is to connect the hearts, hands, and efforts of our parish community to meet the basic necessities of our brothers and sisters in need.
St. Francis of Assisi Outreach Ministry was first organized in the parish in 1979 as an outgrowth of the original St. Vincent de Paul conference. The food pantry has also been an integral part of the assistance provided by St. Francis Outreach ministry. Through the efforts of many volunteers and the generosity of the parish family, the thrift store and food pantry have assisted many of our neighbors and parishioners.
THRIFT STORE AND FOOD PANTRY HOURS:
9:15 am - 12:30 pm - Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, and every 2nd and 4th Saturday of the month.
Volunteers are needed every morning that we are open! We have 50+ shifts a month that need to be filled for us to operate.
Typically, our volunteers are needed to sort through and price donations, organize items in the thrift store, and shop alongside clients for food orders in the pantry. Volunteer shifts are open to anyone that is Safe Environment trained in the Diocese of Fort Worth. Please contact Emma ([email protected]) if you are interested in learning more.
DONATION DROP-OFF HOURS:
Donations can be brought to the cart inside the parish entrance during office hours, OR Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, and the 2nd and 4th Saturdays of the month from 9:15 am to 12:30 pm directly to the Outreach center.
Parishioners are welcome to come shop at the Outreach center! Items carried in the thrift store are those which are generously donated by our parish community. Proceeds are used to provide assistance to those in need.
