Announcement Regarding Fr. Flynn’s Reassignment

At all Masses this weekend, Father Flynn discussed a priest’s vow of obedience and how he is living out this vow in a special way over the coming weeks, saying “there are many things I have learned in my time as a priest, but one of the most important things I have learned is that God’s will is most especially present when we are obedient. Obedient to Him and what He asks of us.”

With a heavy heart but a hope for our parish’s future and his own mission as a priest, Father Flynn announced that Bishop Olson, in consultation with the personnel board, has decided to reassign him to St. Elizabeth Ann Seton in Keller, effective February 1st. Please continue to pray with us during this time of transition, especially for Fr. Flynn in his new role,  for the community of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton as they gain a magnificent pastor, for our new pastor (yet to be announced), and for our own faith community as we look forward to our future under new leadership.

Join us after all Masses for a farewell reception on Jan. 26th and 27th to say goodbye to Father Flynn and wish him well in the future. More details are forthcoming regarding our new pastor and ways we can welcome him and help him feel at home here at St. Francis of Assisi.
