What is the purpose of a Discernment Interview?

Discernment Interviews allow us to better serve you and your family as your son or daughter prepares for a Sacrament. Our goal is to provide each student with an individualized spiritual plan that leads to real life-change and discipleship. Each interview is hosted by a trained volunteer or staff member. Both the student and at least one parent must be present during the interview.

Discernment Interviews are not tests with pass/fail results. They consist of simple questions for each family to answer, giving us vital information about the personal faith of your son or daughter as he or she prepares for a Sacrament. Interview responses are used to help staff make an educated and prayerful recommendation for when Sacrament Preparation should take place for each student.

How long will it take?

About 20 minutes.

How do I prepare for my Discernment Interview?

Take time to pray as a family about what God is doing in your life to prepare you for this Sacrament.
