World Day of Prayer for Vocations

April 22 is observed in our Catholic faith as World Day of Prayer for Vocations.  In addition to our usual vocations prayer before Masses, please find time yourself or with your family at home to recite the prayer printed here.

God Our Father, we thank you for calling men and women to serve in your Son’s Kingdom as priests, deacons, religious, and consecrated persons. Send your Holy Spirit to help us respond generously and courageously to your call. May our community of faith support vocations of sacrificial love in our youth. We ask this through our Lord Jesus Christ, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. Amen.

On April 21/22, known as Good Shepherd Sunday, we will also take up a special collection for for the Seminarian Education Fund (SEF). There are currently 26 seminarians for the Diocese of Fort Worth studying throughout the United States. The diocese provides 9 years of education and formation for each seminarian at an annual average cost of $52,092. The Good Shepherd Sunday Special Collection assists with funding this annual cost. Please give generously at the Masses that weekend, or donate online at or text SEF to 91999.
